Preservation Fund

2005 was the Centennial of the purchase of the Phelps Mansion in 1905. In those days it was a monumental task for the eight women to purchase it, support it, and then leave it for future generations to cherish. Their spirit is alive and flourishing at the Phelps Mansion Museum. Funds have been raised to repair it, restore it and replicate the beautiful Mansard roof. The last 100 years have been a proud part of our history.

Mansion GatesA rich architectural and cultural legacy of the Victorian Era, the museum and its varied programs continue to enrich the life of our community. But old buildings constantly are in need of repair and restoration. Emergencies can strike at any time, but we lack funds for any such time. We know that a new roof is needed over the ballroom. Ceilings and walls Need our attention also.

The Phelps Mansion is beautiful, but lacking funds for any emergency. To ensure its future, we have started a Phelps Mansion Preservation Fund using the Community Foundation of South Central New York as its financial vehicle. Our initial goal is to raise an endowment of $100,000.

When you make a gift to the Phelps Mansion Preservation Fund you are affirming your belief in the Mansion and supporting a vision for the future. You are also sending a perpetual message of your values to future generations. Sometimes, you might want to honor or memorialize someone special with a permanent tribute. In some cases, funds are used to satisfy a debt of gratitude - a way to say thank you.

The following Donor's card gives the instructions for making a donation. Feel free to print, clip it and then mail with your donation. All of those involved at the Phelps mansion Museum, plus future generations Thank You.
