Richard Henry at The Gallery of CNY
Richard Henry’s paintings are distinctly American. His
deeply rooted respect for the American Tradition of Realism is
expressed in his choice of subject from the simple urban scenes to
rural New England landscapes. The painterly approach of his oils
and acrylics reinforces his sincere desire to bring you into his
painted subjects. Admired as a artist who uses paint in a direct
and honest manner, his landscapes capture the raw beauty of Central
New York.
Artist’s Statement:
With a passion for
the arts in my DNA and experience with varied paint
mediums, I am trying to present a fresh means of
expression with each new painting exploration. Working with
vigorous, moving watercolor, I capture momentary visual sensations.
With oil and acrylic, I translate these works and their immediacy
with the stunning accuracy and vitality of oils and acrylics.
