WorkshopsThe following are workshops at the Phelps Mansion Museum that focus on making decorative items for the home or personal use. All of these workshops are open to the public. The tatting started in the fall of 2011, but new people are always welcome. All of these workshops are open to the public. The cost considerations are different for each of the workshops as described below. All workshops are held on Saturdays at the Museum from 10 a.m. to noon. The teacher is Tamara Gates.
May 19 The Phelps Mansion Museum at 191 Court Street, Binghamton, NY is hosting another Victorian Needlework class on Tatting Lace, this time focusing on rings and chains. This is a continuing workshop on tatting. New students are always welcome. Participants should bring a tatting shuttle if they have one, and a small pair of scissors. Tatting shuttles are available for $5.00. All other supplies are provided. Beginners start at 9:00 a.m. for an introduction to the process. Returnees come at 10:00 a.m. The class concludes at noon.
